Opening bow season in Upstate NY

Today was opening bow season for deer here in Upstate NY.  I didn’t get out today, had some stuff to do in the garage and I’m late to the party with setting up my tree stands.  Lucked up this year and received a deer management permit (DMP) tag, so hopefully this gives me a good chance to harvest and stock the freezer!  This is my fourth year hunting and have enjoyed every moment, even though I have yet to harvest anything yet.  Just being outdoors and enjoying a moment away from the “modern world”, watching squirrels and chipmunks and other wildlife (except for any shootable deer), and the silence that can be quite deafening is awesome.  Good luck to all of you other hunters this season.  Stay safe and have fun!
